Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 20, 2026
Wojciech Kuśnierczyk ("we", "our", "us") operates the Splitgram mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses on your device, how it is used, and the limited ways it leaves your device.
We have deliberately designed Splitgram to require no user account and to send no personal data to our own servers. There is no Splitgram backend — your photos, videos, and edits live on your device.
1. Information accessed on your device
1.1 Photos and videos
With your permission, the App reads the photos and videos in your device's photo library so you can select them as input to your split-screen post. All processing — composition, editing, FFmpeg encoding, ML Kit analysis — happens locally on your device. We do not upload, copy, or transmit your media to any server we control.
When you tap "Export", the resulting image or video is saved back to your photo library; we do not retain a copy.
1.2 In-app preferences
The App stores your language choice, favorite templates, export quality preference, and similar UI settings locally using the system's SharedPreferences store. This information stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the App.
1.3 Subscription information
If you start a Splitgram Premium subscription or free trial, our payment partner RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier so that your subscription status follows you across reinstalls and devices on the same Apple ID / Google Account. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, photos, or any other personal data from us. See "Third-party services" below.
2. Third-party services
2.1 Apple App Store / Google Play
Payments and subscription billing are handled entirely by Apple App Store (on iOS) or Google Play (on Android). We never see your payment method or card details. Apple's and Google's privacy practices apply to those transactions:
- Apple Privacy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Google Play Privacy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
2.2 RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat to verify subscription receipts and keep your subscription state in sync across devices. RevenueCat receives only an anonymous user identifier generated by our App and the receipt token issued by Apple or Google. See RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
2.3 Google ML Kit (on-device)
When you use the "Auto" layout mode, Splitgram analyzes the photos and videos you have explicitly selected using Google's ML Kit libraries (face detection, image labeling, object detection). This analysis runs entirely on your device; no images and no analysis results are sent to Google or to us. See Google's ML Kit terms: https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/terms
3. Information we do NOT collect
We do not collect, use, store, or share:
- Your name, email, phone number, or any contact information
- Your IP address or device identifiers
- Your location
- Your photos, videos, edits, or exports
- Your usage patterns, crashes, or analytics
We currently use no third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs in Splitgram. Should this ever change (for example, if we add aggregate, anonymous usage analytics in a future version to understand which features are used most), we will update this Privacy Policy and clearly disclose the new practices before the change takes effect.
4. Children's privacy
Splitgram is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us and we will assist as appropriate.
5. Your rights
Because Splitgram does not collect personal data on our servers, there is generally nothing for us to delete, export, or correct on your behalf — all data lives on your device and is removed when you uninstall the App.
If you have an active subscription, you can cancel it at any time from your device's Settings:
- iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Splitgram Premium
- Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Splitgram Premium
You can also manage your subscription from within the App: open Settings (gear icon in the top right) → Manage subscription.
6. International data transfers
The App processes data on your device, in your country. The minimal information shared with our payment partners (Apple, Google, RevenueCat) may be stored on servers operated by those companies in the United States or other countries. Each of those partners is responsible for compliance with applicable data-transfer laws.
7. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above and, for material changes, surface a notice inside the App before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
